We've teamed up with Norwich's own low-intervention wine experts Substrata to bring you a selection of small-scale, interesting and quaffable wines.
Château Rioublanc 2014:
Philippe Carretero has converted all 47 hectares of Château Rioublanc to organic agriculture, and he makes classic right bank clarets. This one is a traditional blend of two thirds Merlot, and one third Cabernet Sauvignon.
Philippe matures his wines prior to release, and this 2014 has had time for the tannins to soften. There is still plenty of blackcurrant fruit to the palate, but the wine tends towards savoury flavours - cigar box, cedar wood, and pencil shavings.
Enjoy with red meats, hard cheeses or puy lentils cooked with sage, thyme and bay.
